M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum
Solutions implemented:
- An exhibition never seen before has been set up in the amphitheater, creating a spatial sound art piece, with different effects felt from different locations in the amphitheater. Five audio players are synchronized using timecode, with each player “knowing” what the other players are playing and adjusting the audio tracks accordingly.
- The main hall (Refusal Of Time) features an audio-visual exhibition with video and audio tracks synchronized using timecode. The exhibition features five synchronized video recordings and audio tracks playing simultaneously, depicting William Kentridge’s interpretation of space-time and the sense of entropy. Each speaker plays a different track, so the effect is different from different sides, and when you stand in the right place, you can fully immerse yourself in the work.
- Soho Films – an acoustic cube – a semi-enclosed cinema where sound is projected directly at the viewer to create a stronger sensory impression. This exhibition features 10 William Kentridge films from the SOHO chronicles;
- The Čiurlionis Picture Gallery has three exhibitions equipped with projectors, sound systems, and controls that project images onto easels, creating the effect of a moving picture. In this exhibition, you can see William Kentridge’s interview with himself.
- Tables with monitors and headphones have been set up at the Čiurlionis Museum café, where you can view recordings summarizing the exhibition.
