Modernisation of the Samogitian Museum “Alka”

The Samogitian Museum “Alka” in Telšiai is an important cultural centre of the Samogitian region, preserving and presenting the region’s history, art and traditions. In order to update its exhibitions and attract more interest, the museum decided to incorporate modern technologies to interactively present Samogitian cultural heritage as well as strengthen the museum’s relationship with its audience.

BMK Solutions

BMK and its partners implemented a project that included interactive screens with artificial intelligence capabilities, projections, sound systems and lighting. These elements create a dynamic, immersive atmosphere that helps to enhance the absorption of the exhibition content. Sound systems have been integrated with visual technologies and the entire exhibition is centrally managed for convenience.

Value for the museum

Following the modernisation, the museum has seen a significant increase in visitor traffic and positive feedback on the interactive innovations. Visitors particularly appreciated the opportunity to get closer to Samogitian culture through the use of modern technologies, which helped to convey the region’s heritage, historical and artistic values more effectively. The modernisation attracted a wider audience of different ages and interests, and the innovative solutions further strengthened the museum’s competitiveness among other cultural institutions.
