Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry with an additional animated layer
The aim of this pilot project was to test how a 3D model created using photogrammetry can be supplemented with a digital layer – exhibits or additional animation, realistically displayed on the wall. The example showed how works of art can be convincingly recreated in virtual space, precisely adapting to the geometry and surfaces of the space. This is an important step towards the creation of further interactive exhibitions, where historical context merges with modern technologies, allowing visitors to experience art in new ways – both in physical and digital space.
Value for museums and historical spaces
Photogrammetry technology provides museums and historical spaces with the opportunity to accurately and aesthetically document spaces and exhibits, while creating a platform for new types of narratives – such as exhibits or animations that visually “come to life” on real historical surfaces. Such solutions allow for the creation of temporary or seasonal narratives without physical intervention in the architecture. This is particularly valuable for heritage sites. In addition, the digital model can be used in remote education, virtual exhibitions, or accessibility solutions, thus expanding the museum’s audience and strengthening its role as a modern, accessible cultural institution.
