BMK Technology Ensures Smoother Starts in Harness Racing

Not all our projects fit within conventional boundaries. This time, BMK partnered with the Republican Racing Horse League to implement a specialised starting system for harness racing.

An LED display and a light signalling system mounted on the starting vehicle allow drivers to see exactly how much time remains until the start, take their starting positions at the right moment, and ensure a smooth beginning to the race. As the start approaches, the display shows the remaining time, while different coloured light signals clearly indicate each stage of preparation and the exact starting moment.

Damien Beau, a representative of “Le Trot” who recently visited Lithuania, gave the solution a highly positive assessment. According to him, a similar starting system is also used in French harness racing. It is therefore encouraging to see solutions implemented in Lithuania that meet the standards applied in international practice.
